My First experiences with Derrell were when we served as missionaries in the Guatemala El Salvador Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was kind and caring to all. And his sense of humor was a gift that brought a smile to each of us. His sweet wife, Carol, lived in the King Henry Apartments at BYU. Derrell felt so blessed to be married for time and all eternity to such a wonderful woman. Thank you, Derrell, for your inspiring example of Christ-like living and brotherhood.

I am so very sorry for your great loss. I didn't know Darrell personally but I so enjoyed his Facebook posts. He had a great sense of humor and was dearly loved by many. He will be greatly missed. So sorry. Jani Savannah

I am so sorry Carol and Stephanie. I lived next to him and his family as a teenager. His dad helped make my wedding cake, I knew Ethlene, and I did housework for Dora. I consider him a wonderful friend and he is gone too soon. My prayers are with you.
