We will all miss you Lee. You were one of the greatest lovers of our country that I have ever met. Your patriotic wall of decorations tells it all. I am so sorry that you were unable to enjoy the Chateau @ Valley where Linda and I had placed you. I know you would have loved the place if you were able to rally after your stay at Valley Hospital and Stafford Rehabilitation. You would have never had to cook again and would have enjoyed their outstanding food, celebrations and Happy Hours. I hope you know that we tried our best to put you in a really nice place and will forgive us for not letting you return to your home because you did not want us or any hired help to stay with you and Pooka in your mobile home. We are also sorry that Pooka became ill and had to be euthanized. I feel certain that losing her was likely similar to someone else losing a child. I regret that you were never able to meet little Madison and Sawyer. I know you enjoyed the photos we sent a Face Time calls with them.
But, what I realize now is that God had a different plan for you and am hopeful that you are visiting all your friends and family in heaven without having to follow any Covid-19 restrictions! We love you and know you are in a better place.
Love,
Nancy and Dennis Thompson

I will always be grateful to how loving Aunt Lee was to John and Caroline, like she was to all of us kids. I would have loved to be a “fly on the wall” when she and Grandma Haney reunited once again. Lee’s laughter will always be remembered!
