My Grandma was one of the most kind but truthful people you would have ever met. All four of us grandchildren would do arts and crafts with her, a lot of the time she would have to make Noah do it with us but I'm sure he's glad he ended up doing it with us. I remember one of the last crafts we did, we painted little gazebos and Noah got really mad and painted all over his with red paint. I don't think she was that happy about it but she didn't yell at him. I love you, Grandma. We all miss you, we will see you again one day.

Penny and I used to pick blackberries together when we were in grade school in Grandpa and Grandma’s back woods. Not the Evergreen variety with the big seeds, but the smaller Pacific berries with the smaller seeds. Aunt Jeanne would make pies with them for Noel's restaurant that was located in Milton at that time. On one occasion our beautiful, artistic older cousin, Betty, came for a visit from Oklahoma. We took her to a creek in the woods that we had discovered while berry picking. It was a place that we considered especially pretty. She drew a picture of the spot for us and we were so impressed. All three of us knew, without a doubt, that Grandma would have the cookie jar filled for us when we got back...it always was. The farm was our play ground, as it was for all the cousins. Grandpa would pull a sled around the field with a tractor. We would pick up dried cow pies and fling them like frisbees onto the sled. It was a blast! He would compost them to be used later as fertilizer. As a teenager, I worked for a time at Noel’s in Edgewood, as several in the family did, but none worked as hard as Noel, Jeanne, Steven and Penny. The family was devoted to the restaurant and the food was the best!!! (I did take pride in being able to balance as many plates and glasses in my 2 hands as Penny could.) When it came to hairdos, however, Penny excelled. Penny’s flip was always perfect and mine always flopped. (So glad that’s not a style anymore.) So many memories! So sad that you had to leave us so soon dear cousin. I know you will be greatly missed by your wonderful husband, children and grandchildren. Until we see each other again, may God bless and keep you.
