Lea, you will always be one of the most amazing supervisors I ever had at the Boeing Company. You were more than a supervisor or boss, you were a leader and a guide. Not many understood my health struggles but you did. You always had a way of being a decent human above all else by showing compassion, support and kindness. Thank you, sir. You shall be missed, dearly. -Stacy, 747 A Deck Crew

Mr. Raffle, we never spoke much but you were always a steady presence in my friend Whitney’s life, since I first met her in junior high. You could always be counted upon to have something wonderful cooking on the grill at all the parties I’ve attended at your home throughout the years. I witnessed your love for your family through your actions and would hear about all the adventures and joyous holidays. My own family, while I love them dearly, never seemed to “click” like yours does, and continues to do, in your absence. I admit I have always been a bit jealous of the community and bond you all share and have tired to wedge myself in. But there was never any wedging needed, all I had to do was show up. You and your family have always been welcoming, kind and could be counted upon for a good laugh and big hug. I wish I could have known you better. I am grateful everyday for the friendship I share with your daughter, Whitney. I hope to consider myself a honorary Raffle/Clarke for the rest of my life. If I can support and show my own loved ones half as much love and support you’ve shown yours in the full life you’ve led, that’s all I could ever wish for. May you Rest In Peace. My thoughts are with your family.

Lea Raffle was one of the nicest young men that I have ever met. My daughter, Darlene Thompson, went to high school with Lea. She had kidney disease and died in March of her senior year (1984), just a few months before graduation. She played saxophone in the band. Lea played his saxophone at her funeral. That was really special.
I am so sorry for your loss. At the same time, it does my heart good to know that Lea lived a happy, fulfilled, successful life; and he treasured what is most important in life, people, not things.
The memories that Lea left behind are treasures for the family and his friends to enjoy here on earth while we await being reunited with him one day. My prayers are with you are you grieve and learn to move forward one day at a time.
