Uncle Ed was always positive, generous, and supportive of all the people in his circle of love. Very few people can brighten a room simply by entering it. Uncle Ed was one of those people. His infectious laugh, upbeat outlook and optimism was nearly famous. If there was ever an internal optimist, it was he. The memories that he left behind from stories told about life experiences and lessons learned, the countless magic tricks, and simply a real appreciation for life, family, and those he loved are truly his legacy.
Uncle Ed will be forever missed but not forgotten. May he rest in peace.

I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know my father in the last few years of his life. I knew him off and on throughout my life but didn't really know him. My dad spent 4 months with me prior to moving out to Orting. Those months will forever be precious to me and his granddaughter, Tori. I miss you dad and will always remember your smile, wit and genuine love for me. I never doubted it for one minute. My only regret is that we didn't have more quality time together. I love you and will always cherish your memory.
your daughter, Paige

Eddie was my step dad for 14+ years. I wrote a script chronicling his adventures as manager of Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion boxer Sugar Ray Seales.
Eddie had an infectious laugh and masterfully told spellbinding stories. Four memorable ones-
1. Pumpkin head girls of Puyallup
2. Spotting squatting Bigfoot, including twiggy poo, given to a lab and Bigfoot museum.
3. Private eye adventures, poising and the case of the Yelm axe murderer.
4.The moss thief of Spanaway.
Eddie understood peoples motives and told them what they wanted to hear. He had an eloquence beyond his schooling, an undeniable natural God-given ability.
Eddie often spoke of gambling days on the road with his best friend Big Dee, his most treasured friend.
Eddie was a natural mother hen and caregiver. He showed extreme kindness to people who could not take care of themselves.
Those of us who knew Eddie may remember his mantra, developed in early days. With a smile he'd quickly say-
"Hi, I'm Eddie with a heart-of-gold Garner, the-winder-the-grinder-the sweet-spot-finder, the honey-taker, money-taker, lover-of-supreme, built like a Greek-god, shoulders-like-a-bull." Then strike crazy Elvis leg poses, with John Travolta Saturday Night Fever arms.
Eddie was a larger than life character, very memorable and loved!
