Obituary of Robert Lee Hilling

In Memoriam: Robert “Bob” Hilling

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Hilling, who left us on December 26, 2023, at the age of 81. Bob was a kind and giving man and his departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on March 30, 1942. Bob graduated from Federal Way High School and went on to graduate College from Seattle University with a degree in accounting. He also was in the National Guard.

Bob leaves behind his wife Joan of 59 years and two sons, Scott and Jay, his sister Linda, extended family members and many friends he met along his journey.

A man of many talents, Bob’s professional journey turned into his love for construction. Bob loved to build. Throughout Bob’s life he built many roads, beautiful homes and finished his career with elegant landscaping. His innovative spirit and dedication were evident in every project he undertook, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Bob had a passion for collecting things. Over the years Bob had a collection of 27 antique cars, 3 old-fashioned buggy’s and 3 fire trucks.

A graveside service will be held on January 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Sumner Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the Puyallup or Sumner Food Bank.

May Bob’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may the memories of his laughter, guidance, and love bring solace to those who mourn his passing.
