Obituary of Suzanne Saunders Campbell

Suzanne Sylvia Saunders Campbell passed away at her home surrounded by family and her beloved pet after an extended battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Saunders and Sylvia Saunders and her sister Evelyn Saunders Webb. She is survived by her brother Wayne Saunders, niece Stacy Saunders Hickman, great niece Molly Hickman, son Malcolm Scott Campbell, his wife Sandra Campbell and grandchildren Austin, Evan and Megan Campbell. She is also survived by her many friends and extended family.

Suzanne was born in San Antonio, TX to Fred and Sylvia Saunders as their first child. Evelyn was born 15 months later and her brother Wayne 4 years after that. Growing up in San Antonio, Suzanne was close to her aunts, uncles and many cousins. The family enjoyed outings in the areas surrounding San Antonio and visits to families’ homes.

Suzanne moved with her husband Billy Campbell to Houston where they raised their son Malcolm through elementary school. Suzanne was a mother and student as she earned her nursing degree and then a working mom as she practiced nursing for the next 45 years. Her nursing career was practiced in many different disciplines across Texas, Idaho, and Washington.

Suzanne enjoyed gardening, birds, hiking and the company of friends.

She will be dearly missed and remembered by friends and family.

A service will be held for Suzanne on Tuesday, December 5th at 1 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Snohomish, WA. In memory of Suzanne, a scholarship fund has been set up in her name to provide support for nursing students at Everett Community College. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at everettcc.edu/foundation or mailed to EvCC Foundation, 2000 Tower Street, Everett, WA 98201.
