Obituary of Leo Washburn

On November 19th, 2023 Leo “Pete” Washburn passed away peacefully at the age of 79. Leo was born on May 12th, 1944 to parents Irvin and Hazel Washburn and grew up in Federal Way, Washington. Leo enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War during July 1962 through January 1971. Leo served as a Navy corpsman and felt a duty to serve his country.

While in the Navy he learned his trade as a dental technician which he pursued throughout his life. He worked for several dental laboratories before starting his own as an entrepreneur in 1993 where he owned and operated Valley Oral Prosthetics in Kent, Washington. His care and dedication to his craft enabled him to provide and support his loving family.

Leo was an avid fisherman and dedicated much of his free time to angling for many kinds of fish, but he always enjoyed salmon and steelhead the most. He shared countless hours of his time fishing with his many friends and family.

Leo is survived by wife of 35 years, Anne, his daughter Jennifer, son David, two Granddaughters Miranda and Ryley, and his sister Ardis Endres. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Neil and sister Adrienne. Leo will be having a private service with his close family and friends at a later date.
