Obituary of Norma Yvonne Quick

Norma was born and raised in the Norwegian community of Silvana in Snohomish County. She graduated from Arlington HS and then earned a nursing degree in 1950 from UW. It was at a UW Sigma Nu-Sigma Kappa fraternity-sorority mixer where she met her husband of 64 years, Bob Quick from Chehalis. They were married for 64 years and, after stints in the east and in Longview, lived at Lake Tapps until his death in 2014. 

 

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Tom (Eleanor), Nancy (Brian) Kirkpatrick, and Matt (Sharon); six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Along with Bob, who died in 2014, she was preceded in death by a daughter who died in infancy, Mary Jane, and one granddaughter, Darcy. 

 

The family would like to especially thank the staff of the Foothills Adult Family Home in Buckley, where Norma spent the past four years, for their wonderful care.

 

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:30 AM on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Faith Covenant Church in Sumner, where Norma was a longtime member.
