Obituary of William James White

William James “Jim” White, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington.

   

He was born December  14, 1942 during a “black out” at the Puyallup General Hospital, Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington, the 4^th child of Arthur Joseph White Sr & Isal Gertrude (Wilcox) White.   He is survived by his wife Xiaoning, his children,  grandchildren, & great grandchildren, brothers Gary & Jerry, sisters Antoinette, Beverly, Dorothy, Mary Ann & Teresa and many nieces, nephews & cousins.   He was preceded in death by his parents; his 1^st wife; brothers Arthur Jr., Charles, John Roy, Robert & sister Sharon.

 

He was a 5^th generation descendant of the Levi & Elizabeth (Alkire) Wilcox family who settled in Pierce County in 1884 prior to Washington attaining statehood.

He proudly served his country in the Air Force. He retired from Schenck Communications.   He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing, spending time in his garden and spending time with his family. He was definitely loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

 

Cremation by Curnow & Hill Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sumner, Washington.   At his request there will be no memorial service.

That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand. 

The angel said my place was ready, in Heaven far above. 

And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. 

But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, 

for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me “Welcome Home”. 

So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,

for every time you think of me, I’m right there  in your heart.
