Obituary of Neysa B. Blackwell

Neysa B. Blackwell passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023, surrounded by her children.

She was born on March 4, 1935, in Youngstown, Ohio. When she was 5 years old, she moved to El Paso, Texas, where she lived until age 15. She then relocated to Sacramento, California, where she obtained a degree in Elementary Education from Sacramento State College in 1957.

In 1958, she married Donald M. Blackwell, and they had three children together. Neysa enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom before starting her own promotional products business, "Ac-cent Advertising." She returned to teaching in 1999, working at Sammamish Montessori School, where she held several different positions including early bird teacher, reading specialist, librarian, and her favorite position of all, being a nanny for Anna, Claire, and Sara, before retiring in 2020.

Neysa is survived by her children and grandchildren: Donna Gates (Bailey and Tanner), Julz Blackwell, John Blackwell, and his wife Kelly (Garret and Dylan).
