Obituary of Roxanne Fay O'Hair

Roxanne Fay O’Hair, 75, of Gold Bar, Washington, passed away on September 2, 2023 in Bellevue, WA surrounded by family. Roxanne was born on December 19, 1947 to Vernet & Betty (Roundtree) Weythman in Wenatchee, Washington.

After Roxanne graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1966, she obtained her R.N. through Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing in 1969. After graduation, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse for a few years. She also worked as a seamstress throughout her life.

In 1969, Roxanne married John Blanchard Erickson in Tacoma, Washington. Roxanne and John went on to have two children, John and James. Widowed in 1974, Roxanne met and married Richard Elfers in 1977 in Federal Way, Washington. They went on to have two children, Betsy and Paul “Andy.” In 1986, after their divorce, she married Clarence “Bud” O’Hair, father to Elizabeth and Debbie.

Roxanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, husband Bud, and grandson Brendan (Elizabeth). She is survived by her son John (Christi) of Whidbey Island, WA and granddaughters Emma and Allison; James (Paulina) of Stafford, VA and grandsons James Jr. and Jon-Paul; Betsy (Eugene) of Puyallup, WA and grandchildren Joshua and Khanya; Andy (Becky) of Sumner, WA and grandchildren Nathan, Daniel, Katie, and Caleb; Debbie (Doug) of Hawaii; and Elizabeth (Steve) of Arlington, WA and grandchildren Andrew and Mikaila.

Roxanne loved her family and had many hobbies including gardening, sewing, and health and nutrition. She had a great spirit of hospitality and service to those in need – over the years she took in over a dozen troubled teens and families in need. She was active in the Snohomish County Grange and enjoyed sewing clothes as well as all sorts of competitions.

The funeral service for Roxanne will begin at 10:00AM at New Hope Community Church in Lake Tapps, WA on Thursday, September 14, 2023, followed by a graveside service at Mt View Cemetery in Auburn at noon.
