Obituary of Michelle Louise Winter

Michelle Louise Winter, 56, of Bonney Lake, Washington, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2023. She was surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Shelly was born on September 25, 1966, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Moving frequently as a child of a military family, she settled in Humboldt County, California, graduating from Fortuna High School in 1985.

Two of her greatest accomplishments were becoming a loving mother when her son Christopher was born and graduating from nursing school in 2005.

Shelly was a dedicated nurse who demonstrated kindness, compassion, and skill caring for her patients in hospitals. She worked both in California, and most recently at Saint Elizabeth in Enumclaw, Washington.

In 2014, she met and eventually married the love of her life, Dan. Shelly gained four bonus children whom she loved as her own. Together Dan and Shelly shared three grandchildren. Caleb and Hannah Tatom, and Levi Winter, who filled her heart with joy.

Shelly enjoyed a 35 year friendship with her best friend Tish, who will profoundly miss her partner in adventure. Shelly enjoyed spending her time crafting, bargain hunting, and traveling. Many were blessed by her love of crocheting blankets, wrapping them with her love and warmth. Her relationship with God and great faith was an inspiration and encouragement to many as she bravely battled her cancer.

Shelly is survived by her husband Dan, her father Fred Josey, sister Christina Josey, and their children- Christopher, DJ and his wife Lindsey, Brady, Makenna, and Brennan.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Shelly on September 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Motion Church (Bonney Lake Campus). The address is 22626 120th Street East, Bonney Lake, WA 98391.
