Obituary of Melissa Renee Israel

Melissa Renee Israel, 50, of Seattle, Washington, passed away on August 5, 2023. She was born on March 31, 1973, in Landstul, Germany. Melissa was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Melissa was known for her sharp intellect, quick wit, and positive outlook on life. Her friends and family admired her fearless and confident nature, as well as her ability to make friends with anyone she met. Melissa had a friendly and outgoing personality, always seeing the best in people. In her career, Melissa worked as a medical coder and biller in the insurance industry. She was dedicated to her work and took pride in her contributions. Outside of work, Melissa enjoyed indulging in her hobbies, which included reading and watching TV. She found solace and joy in these activities, especially as she fought against lung cancer and strived to regain her health. Melissa is survived by her father, Roberto Israel, her brother Roberto Israel, her daughter Cecilia Castillo, her sons Ramiro Castillo and Roberto Castillo, as well as her grandsons Daniel and Emilio Zamora-Castillo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Wetzler. A ceremony to honor Melissa's life will be held at a later date, with details to be determined.
