Obituary of Shirlian Quinlan Rasmussen

 Shirlian Radke Quinlan Rasmussen was called home by her Lord on June 11th, 2023. She was the youngest child born to Otto and Hazel Radke in Nashwauk, MN on April 22, 1925. Raised in Grand Rapids, MN, she graduated from Grand Rapids High School in June,1943. Afterwards, she went off to Washington, D.C. to support the war effort and worked as a secretary for an attorney with the Department of the Navy. She married David H. Quinlan, who was in the Navy and stationed at the Naval Shipyard in D.C., on January 25,1945. He predeceased her on August 27,1976. They had one devoted son, Guy F. Quinlan.

 

Shirlian married Robert Rasmussen on April 6,1991, enlarging her family by Bob's 6 children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were a big part of her life and dearly loved by her. Shirlian is preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, and her husbands, David H. Quinlan and Robert C. Rasmussen.

 

She is survived by her loving son, Guy F. Quinlan (Debra), grandson Justin Quinlan. Also surviving are stepchildren Shera (Robert) Stallman, Robert (Nola) Rasmussen, Jr., Tracy (John) Sherin, Steve (Doreen) Rasmussen, Jon (Dana) Rasmussen, Mark (Kim) Rasmussen, plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Our Mom/Stepmom was kind, loving, humorous, thoughtful, giving, and forever faithful to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We love and miss her, knowing that she loved and cherished all of us.
