Obituary of Kay Anne Salveson

In loving memory of Kay Anne (Senti) Salveson.

Kay Salveson, loving mother, wife, and friend passed away unexpectedly on July 7th, 2023 at the age of 58 near her current residence of Puyallup, Washington. A celebration of life will be held in her honor on August 12th, 2023 at the Buckley Eagles at 2 in the afternoon.

Kay was born on August 19th 1964 to George and Edith (Hurst) Senti. Kay was born and raised in Williston, ND where she graduated at Williston high school with the class of ’82. Post high school Kay worked part-time and in 1985 earned her associates degree. In 1986 she and her soon to be husband Waylan moved to Aurora, Colorado where they spent the next 4 years. During their time in Colorado, Kay continued her college career for court reporting and held a position working in the healthcare field.

Kay and Waylan decided to tie the knot in their hometown of Williston ND in 1990 before relocating to Puyallup, WA where they would spend the next 33 years together. While living in Puyallup Kay finished her college degree and established herself as a freelance court reporter. In 1993 Kay welcomed her first child (Garrett) and a second in 1998 (Payton).

While continuing her Court reporting career Kay and her husband decided to open a small business which now employs the whole family. Kay always made it a priority to be involved in her children’s lives. She was an active participant in any activities or organizations they were a part of growing up and volunteered at the schools often. She never missed an opportunity to support and cheer on her family.

Kay was a true lover of the outdoors and enjoyed spending time camping with friends and family as well as her adored canine companions Shay and Stella. In her pass time Kay would garden, go for bike rides or cuddle up on the couch with a good thriller book. Kay loved the holidays and any excuse to celebrate so she could decorate and bring the family together (Usually for board or card games). Kay was the most thoughtful gift giver and especially loved Christmas so she could shop for her friends and family.

More than anything Kay was kind hearted and was the most genuine person. Her ability to connect with people and carry conversations was unmatched. Kay would make a friend in someone wherever she went and was always fun to be around. Many people called her the life of the party and her beautiful smile and contagious laugh will be remembered forever.

Kay was predeceased by her mother Edith Senti and her father George Senti. She is survived by her loving husband, Waylan Salveson and her children, Garrett Salveson, Payton Tabert (Luke) as well as her Siblings Wes Senti (Sue), Jill Stevens (Bob) and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or gifts please consider donating to one of the many charities Kay chose to donate to on a regular basis: PETA, Humane Society, American Red Cross or Orphan Acres.
