Obituary of Marga S Clippinger

Marga Clippinger

Leaving a void impossible to fill, Marga Clippinger, loving wife, mother, Oma, Grandma, Tante, Schwester, Ma, professional donut maker, Bingo champion, and winner of all arguments, passed away January 30th, 2021, at the age of 81.

Born in Buchbrunn, Germany, on January 6th, 1940, to Hans and Anna Muller, Marga was the 7th of 8 siblings. As a young girl, she always dreamed of traveling. She loved Germany, but she had wanderlust in her soul. That wanderlust would take her all over the world.

She met and married her first husband, Lanay Creech, in Germany. They moved their young family to the USA not long after. After spending 20 years as a military spouse, life took a detour. Finding herself single and ready to embark on one last adventure, Marga settled in the PNW.  It is here that Marga met and married Myrl Clippinger, the love of her life.

A genuinely disciplined German, Marga began each day going room to room, ensuring everything was in order. Only then did she allow herself to indulge in her favorite afternoon pastime of watching Judge Judy. It is well known anytime you came to Marga's house, it would be not just clean, but "Oma" clean.

Indeed, Marga's greatest passion was her family, a family she watched over with fly swatters and hugs. Many a grandchild has memories of being chased around the pool table at the lake house. She lived for visits from the family and was happiest when all her children were with her. Marga had the unique ability to correct and comfort you in a single sentence comprised of a healthy mix of German and English. Marga loved the people in her life through all ups and downs. She made a point to keep in touch, keeping tabs on everyone, and fiercely loving them all. Her heart was huge, but there was always something missing. That is until her granddaughter, Johna, found the son she had placed for adoption at birth. Being reunited with Raymond, she regained that missing piece. The whole family did. Most of all, Marga loved and supported Myrl. In her last hours, as was her nature, she worried more about him than herself. She didn't want to leave him.

Marga is survived by her husband Myrl, their children, Ralf (Leslie) Creech, Arno (Karen) Creech, Raymond Kendeigh, Maryann (John) Bulldis, Lanay (LeAnn) Creech, Peresa Brady, Lauri Meyer, Donald (Karla) Clippinger, and Gary (Becky) Clippinger. Marga is also survived by numerous grandchildren, even more great-grandchildren, and her loving family in Germany.

Marga was preceded in death by her brothers Martin, Erich, Hans, Lorenz, Werner, and parents, Georg Hans and Anna Muller.

While Marga enjoyed family gatherings, she didn't like anyone making a fuss about her. However, the family will brave that German judgment to celebrate Marga's life at her favorite place on a holiday she wasn't overly fond of – July 4th, 2021. While never a fan of the fireworks, Marga loved that it brought her family together. We will gather together to reflect on her incredible life, honor her, laugh, cry, celebrate, and share the love she shared with us all.
