This is for Kip, a fellow loyal Bob Dylan fan -
Shooting Star
Seen a shooting star tonight
And I thought of you
You were trying to break into another world
A world I never knew
I always kind of wondered
If you ever made it through
Seen a shooting star tonight
And I thought of you
Seen a shooting star tonight
And I thought of me
If I was still the same
If I ever became what you wanted me to be
Did I miss the mark or overstep the line
That only you could see?
Seen a shooting star tonight
And I thought of me
Listen to the engine, listen to the bell
As the last fire truck from hell
Goes rolling by
All good people are praying
It’s the last temptation, the last account
The last time you might hear the sermon on the mount
The last radio is playing
Seen a shooting star tonight
Slip away
Tomorrow will be
Another day
Guess it’s too late to say the things to you
That you needed to hear me say
Seen a shooting star tonight
Slip away
-Bob Dylan (1989)

I wish I had been the same great friend to him he was to me. He always knew when “Im ok” meant the opposite. His response?...” Okay that was the lamest response to a serious question ever. Fill me in friend, what's up? What are you doing these days to be happy? Can I help, partake, do anything to be a better friend? "I'm okay" sucks so bad as an answer...........Talk to me.”. That really is amazing if you think about it. Not many people can be that present to help a friend. Never forgotten.

July 6 2019. Up walking around Greenwater and Kip just decides to jump in. Didn't have a reason, just felt like it. He did it again on video but I can't add video here. Just before this we did beer bongs with strangers walking by. That may have been one reason haha.

August 18 2014. Our great Seattle romp. We were walking Seattle with back packs full of beer for the entire night. Sun down to sun up. Had Kip eating frozen peas off a fence, Kip lost his phone, we found his phone hours later and celebrated, met some shady people, called the police on said shady people, had a mad dash to a convenience store for more beer before 2am, Kip fell down in the chase and stared at the stars until me and Dan successfully accomplished our mission, saw one of our drivers making deliveries before we knew what time it was, and took a shopping cart for the last of our beer before heading back toward our ride. An adventure we talked about a lot.

July 12 2016.
At Scot's camping spot with Lucas and Jared.
Also there was Scot, Cory F, Dan, Cody, Hannah, and myself. Snowed real heavy after this so in the middle of the night Kip and I headed home before it got too bad and I scared him to death a couple times on the drive when the back end was getting squirrelly.

My little brother was the ying to my yang. He was truly my soulmate. His eyes and huge smile lit up a room and that laugh haha oh my I can still hear it ringing in my ears. I will miss our heart to heart talks about life, kids and all the stupid stuff we did as kids and yes adults and all the things we still were going to do. His love of nature and his friends kept him going and there were always new photos and stories to share. His military buddies I feel I know personally as that bond was strong. His daughter is his lifes greatest achievement in his eyes and she was always on his mind. He had the biggest heart on the planet but yet felt inadequate, I truly believe he can now feel the wave of love and the many ways he changed each of us for the better. He always has been a shining star and I hope he can now see that.
I miss his ballsy posts on FB , his truth no matter the circumstances and just his true self.
I will cherish the memories and his spirit deep in my soul the rest of my life. I love you bro, so very much I can feel the real pain like a deep wound, however with all our family and many many friends, we will get thru this together and make you proud.
Play that guitar loud Kip and send us some artwork in the sky when you can. Your big sis will be watching . I love you

He will always be Kip Kendall from Kent for me and my family. My dad used to love saying that. I've known Kip since 1988 when we both returned from Europe; me returning from Boarding School in Switzerland and Kip from being in the Army. We hit it off immediately (thanks to some common friends from TASIS) and have been friends ever since. I hadn't seen much of Kip lately, even after moving back from Houston, Texas 5 years ago. I regret that.... Wish I would have seen more of him. He will be missed! Prayers to all the family and friends impacted by his loss. RIP Kipster!
