Obituary of Kenneth Leppell

Surrounded by family and friends, Ken went home to the Lord at the age of 68 on December 5, 2010. Ken was born August 14, 1942 in Spokane, WA, where he graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory High School in 1960. Ken served in the Army from 1961 - 1964. He moved to Puyallup in 1965 with his first wife and the mother of his children, Diane Easter - now Vetter. In 1988, he married Kay DeBock. He lived in Puyallup for the rest of his life. Ken worked at Boeing for many years. Then he went to Pioneer Industries. In the last 3-1/2 years, he delivered the Coffee News in downtown Puyallup, and all of the store owners loved him. He was a devoted (over 28 years) "friend of Bill W." In 1998, he was ordained into the ministry. His passion was his sobriety and God, his ministry, and helping his fellow man. He loved his family, his animals, his congregation, his friends, fishing, and travelling. He was known as "Love Ya" Ken, because he loved everyone and saw the Spirit of God within each and every one of us. Ken was the youngest of 12 children, of which four sisters, Ruby, Valeta, Dawn and Norma, and brother Calvin are surviving. Ken was preceded in death by his father Ellwood Leppell, his mother Eva Leppell-Everett, his son Mark Leppell, and grandson Chad Haylor He is survived by his wife Kay Leppell, his son Lloyd Leppell (Gail), stepson Brad Lanksbury (Linda), step-daughters Rachel Denney (Ron), Allison Woodruff (Fred), Vicki Kauth, and Leslie Lanksbury, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, and too many friends to list. Services will be held Thursday, December 16th, 2010 at 6:30pm at Bethany Baptist Church, 713 South Hill Park Dr., Puyallup, WA 98373. Memorial donations may be made to The Soldiers of the Cross, 4222 N., Sierra Way, San Bernardino, CA 92407.
