As the obituary states, Jeff was a "force of nature" at Green River. He built the philosophy program into something unique; with excited students, a collegial, egalitarian department, and a range of course offerings unparalleled by any community college on the West Coast. The "force of nature" through which he accomplished all this was as the *wu wei* of a Daoist sage: a gentle, conciliatory power to inspire and move those around him. I consider him as one of my chief...

We spend many days house sitting for Jeff and Diane at there home on Lake Tapps many years ago. We enjoyed the time we were able to work with him and Tyler on stage. Jeff was a very special man who will be greatly missed.

Jeff will have a deep and lasting impact on the lives of all who knew him: friends, family, faculty, staff, and students. His contributions to Green River College were meaningful and will last on for decades and will continue to be a part of the ongoing heart, soul, and identity of GRC. He will be deeply missed by me, and by all of us. Sending love to Diane, Tyler, and all of Jeff's friends and family.

I did not know him well, but he hired me once and helped me out during the quarter I taught at Green River. Jeff was an exceptionally friendly person. It was a pleasure to have known him, the little I did. Which suggests to me, quite a loss for those who knew him well. In Jewish custom they say, "May his memory be a blessing." That it will, I have no doubt.

Diane and Tyler, I'm sorry for your loss. Jeff was a very gentle, kind, smart soul and he will be missed by all who met him. I know his cousins, Melodie and Maribeth, and Marsha spoke highly of him and will miss him. One thing I remember and adored about him, is he was very family orientated and always wanted to educate the younger members of the ones that had passed to keep their memory alive. I always enjoyed spending time listening to him talk about the memories he had. Looking forward to...
