Obituary of Dianna Marie Tovoli

Dianna Marie Tovoli Peacefully passed away in her home on Monday, April 19, 2010. With Peter, her husband of over 50 years at her side, she ended her year-long battle with lung cancer. Born in Tacoma July 28, 1940, Dianna was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School, working at Rhodes and Woolworth's Department Stores before marrying and moving to the Milton-Edgewood area. Peter and Dianna settled into life with their children - daughters Lorine Maerkle (Michael), Jane Miller (Greg), Gail Maghirang (Andro), son Louis (Tracie), and Greg Schmidt (Kim), whom she considered a second son. Together they established Pete's Spray Service in 1971, a company which continues to thrive through the capable hands of their children and trusted hard-working employees. It is a proud legacy of which Dianna spoke of often. A life-long member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Dianna was active in the Altar Society and as a Eucharistic Minister. Over the years, she served on several boards and committees, such as the Camp Fire Council and IPAA. During their leisure time, Peter and Dianna traveled the United States, cruised the oceans, and toured Europe, specifically enjoying their Italy trips visiting family. Dianna was preceded in death by her mother Genevieve Reidinger, father John Farlow, and brother Dean. She is survived by her aunt Elaine Osage, sister Sally-J Hughes, 12 grandchildren, and numerous family members and friends. A celebration of Dianna's life will be held at St. Martin of Tours, 2303 54th Ave. E, Fife, Saturday, May 8, 2010, beginning with the Rosary at 10:00 and Memorial Mass at 10:30, with a luncheon in the Church Hall following services. A private inurnment service will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Donations, in Dianna's name may be made to the charity or organization of your choice, or to Camp Kesem, Arizona State University, PO Box 386, Tempe, AZ 85280, a national organization which provides support to children of family members fighting cancer The family wishes to express its gratitude to the medical personnel and caregivers who treated Dianna with respect and kindness, the Church community for its prayers, and friends for their unwavering support.
