Obituary of Rose Z. Moore

Rose (Zinski) Moore passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday July 11, just one day shy of 44 years since her husband, Willie, died in the same home that they shared since 1949. Rosie was born October 10, 1916 in Carbonado, Wa, & resettled in Tacoma after several years at various military posts across the country with Willie. She was preceded in death by her parents and all seven of her brothers & sisters. Her five children Bill (Butch), Dick, Patty, Bob, Shel & their spouses were beginning to plan a 90th birthday celebration, & will miss their Mom dearly. “GraMa Rosie” has nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, & one great-great grandchild. She has been mother & father to her family since Willie’s death in 1962, always placing the needs of her family above her own. Rosie retired from the McChord AFB Commissary after 18 years of service in 1978. She loved all animals, from ducks to dogs. Rosie’s home was always open to family & friends. Her flowers, vegetable garden, home-cooked meals, her cucumbers & vinegar, her scrumptious zucchini bread, & her "tight-n-tighter" hugs will be missed. The many afghans that she made for her family will be forever treasured. "Ja Cie Kocham, GraMa" Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 20th at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Tacoma at 11 am. Arrangements by Funeral Alternatives of Washington, (253) 863-2800. Please sign the online guest book at faofwa.com
