Would love to say from what I know of my cousin who I had the honor to meet once that he is a very resourceful man who very much adores his family from where ever they are in the world. Thank you Alan for finding me, it was a huge pleasure. You are a blessing to your family and everyone you have met. Sorry for such a late signing of your guestbook on this site, I just found it 9 years later, maybe not a coincidence that I found this site today on the memorial day of your passing.

I had the opportunity to meet Alan at Kristen and Mike’s wedding and I was impressed with his witty sense of humor and the enjoyment he had from being around his family. Even though I only knew him through that weekend, it is clear he was an amazing man and father who will be dearly missed. Best wishes to your great family!

Dear Sister May,
We just heard the news of the passing of your wonderful husband. We loved serving with him seven years ago as senior missionaries in the Tacoma Institute while he was waiting for his kidney transplant. What a great example he was to us! What fun! He truly loved the Lord and the young people of the Church and his family. He truly loved and appreciated you it was plain to see. May it be of comfort knowing that so many people care. You are in our prayers.
With love,
Craig and Martha Rushforth

Dear Jonna and Family,
Just wanted to let you know each member of our family feels a special bond to you and your family through the lifelong and now eternal friendship shared by our husbands and fathers. One of the things that comforts us the most is to know their earthly suffering is over and they will never again suffer the pains of this earthly life. Alan was a true friend and Disciple of Christ.Jonna, you have been by his side every step of the way! You are equally exemplarary in your devotion to Alan, to the Savior and to your Family. Alan will never be far away from you or your children. We love you all and feel very blessed and honored to have this special bond and friendship with you and your family through our beloved husbands. Love to you all,

Dear entire May family-
My husband and I join you in a celebration of Alan's life - so full of meaning, dedication, character, humor, humility and great stories. Alan helped me move to BYU my first year there... in a large rental truck. I'd never met him prior to the trip - but knew him well by the end. He spoke of dating with no money in Rexburg - going to a pizza place, waiting for others to leave pizza on their table, bringing the slices to his date's table with only the cost of pop! He was a great father and husband to his little family back then, while working and going to school. After that I heard many "Alan stories" from various members of the family, especially from his Mom, Afton, who was always so proud of him!
What a delightful man of strong testimony! What a strong valiant worker on the other side now!
With love-
Gaaren and Mary Anderson

It was our delight and pleasure to work with you at the Institute as a missionary service couple. Such a warm, knowledgeable, and often humorous way in which you taught the gospel! You made learning fun! You kept the chairs full. We had just asked about you at Christmas time. You will be kept busy up there in the Heavenly relms. Your courage in dealing with your kidney failure was awsome.
