Obituary of Charles Omar Brands

Charles Omar Brands Charles (Chuck) Omar Brands passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2009 surrounded by his entire family. He is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Penny, sons Mark, Will and Chuck, grandsons Andrew, Tyler, Bryan, Austin, Adam, Aaron, Fraser and Harrison, and his brother Peter.EChuck was born in Tacoma on March 1st, 1935, where he would spend a majority of his life.EHe was a true "Tacoma boy", graduating from Bellarmine Preparatory in 1953, serving in the U.S. Army between 1958-1960 and then raising his family in nearby Fife. He was a dedicated employee, working for most of his life for The Brower Company of Tacoma as a member of Local 7 of the Asbestos Workers Union of America (Heat and Frost Insulation). After his retirement, he spent a great deal of his time at his beloved property on the Cowlitz River near Toledo Washington.EHe will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. In lieu of gifts, the family requests that donations be made in Chucks memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association . The family sends a Huge THANK YOU to the doctors and staff at Good Samaritan Hospital.
