Obituary of Homer A. Mattson

Homer A. Mattson Of Redmond, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2009. Born in Minnesota April 29, 1922, to Alphin and Ida Mattson, "Matt" died at the age of 87 years and 7 months. Matt was preceded in death by Joyce, his wife for 61 years, and is survived by his children, Brian and Drew in Minneapolis, Lee in Seattle and Faye inDuvall; his grandchildren, Kevin, Kirk, Vanessa, Ross and Rory; and his great-grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Marion May and Trudie Faye. After retiring from a long career in education, Matt and Joyce joined the Peace Corps to bring their educational experience to others. He traveled throughout the world, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and other organizations, and was a long and faithful member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Bellevue. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 2650 148th Ave. SE, Bellevue, at 11:00 on Saturday, December 12.
