Obituary of Thomas Lanar Booth

Thomas Lanar Booth passed on October 23, 2009, with family by his side, at Franciscan Hospice House following a long illness and recent stroke. Born July 27, 1934 in Princeton, CA to Louis and Eula Booth. Graduated Stadium High School in 1953. Served in US Army for 2 years. Worked at 6th Ave. Nat'l Auto Parts for 20 years and Westbay Auto Parts in Port Orchard for 25 years. In his younger years worked at and climbed Mt. Rainier. His love of the mountain and outdoors remained with him all his life. Tom volunteered at University Place Fire Dept., becoming an EMT and paramedic, and retired after 25 years. He taught an EMT course at TCC for 5 years. In August he celebrated 50 years of marriage to Lorna Reitz. Survived by his wife Lorna, sons Kris (Conley) of Yelm and Ty of Seattle, beloved grandchildren Kaleb, Bailey, Amber and Lindsey, sisters Pat Duncan of Ukiah, CA and Karen Helbich of Federal Way, brother Al (Margie) Booth of Gig Harbor, brother and sister-in-law Les and Irma Pedersen of Lacey, and numerous nieces and nephews. A sincere thank you for all the help from University Place Fire Dept and loving care from Franciscan Hospice House of University Place. Family suggests donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church memorial fund or Franciscan Hospice. A celebration of life to be held Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 1pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1001 Princeton, Fircrest.
