Obituary of Madeline M. Stolp

Madeline M. Stolp May 26, 1932 - May 31, 2009 "On the wings of a dove she flew away" Madeline arrived May 26, 1932, in Austin, Tex. (Go, Cowboys!). While attending Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Wash., she met, fell in love, and married Rodney L. Stolp, her loving husband and best friend for more than 59 years. Over those years together they enjoyed a wide and various range of activities. They loved, cared for and taught their children by example how to become decent, compassionate and hard-working. Hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends were what they enjoyed most. In Madeline's later years, declining health limited the active life she had so loved. With determination, Madeline turned to one of her many talents, baking for her loved ones. If she had known her "kids" argued over who had the bigger piece, she might have thrown the oven out. Most likely, Madeline would have asked Rod to buy her a bigger oven, and he would have done so. Madeline had a strong belief in God, a sharp wit, wicked sense of humor and her own style and flair. Madeline loved people, her horses and dogs, flowers, hats, music, Nevada, her "kids," and most of all she loved Rod. Madeline is deeply loved and missed by husband Rod, dog Joey, the "kids" Mike and Louise Stolp, grandsons Michael and JohnE(Adana) Stolp, great grandchildren Amanda and Tyler Stolp, sister Delores "Sis" (Bob) Little, Donna Wetmore, Dorothy, brothers-in-law Chris (Shirley) Prindel, Sid (Pat) Stolp, sister-in-law Merle Michaelson and many nieces, nephews and friends. Madeline loved to write and shortly before she left to join loved ones, she wrote her finest line: "I love you all." Thank you, Madeline, all of us loved all of you. A memorial and pot luck luncheon to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009, at noon at the Eatonville Eagles Hall, 100 Weyerhaeuser Rd. N., Eatonville
