Obituary of June Darlene Fenton

June Darlene Fenton, 62, of Auburn passed away September 3, 2008 after a five-year, on again, off again battle with cancer. Born June 21, 1946 in Seattle to Henry and Corinne Cato. She graduated Evergreen High School in White Center in 1964. While in school, she participated in Girl Scouts and square dancing, and also served as a Candy Striper in a local hospital. Married Lawrence William Fenton July 11, 1964. He preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Fenton is survived by her parents, brothers Paul Cato of Federal Way and Lewis Cato (Madalyn) of Seatac, daughter Veronica (John Shell) of Graham, sons William (Melissa) of Burien, Larry of Grayland(?) and Richard (Lea) of Cove, OR, and 14 grandchildren. A long-time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in several capacities, her favorite being in the nursery. She also enjoyed sewing, craftwork, and spoiling her grandchildren. A full-time homemaker for her early adult life, after raising her children, she re-entered the work force, first with Hancock Fabrics, then working her last seven years at Staples. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13th at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Auburn Stake Center, 1820 F Street SE, Auburn WA. Friends may call at the church one hour prior, or Friday September 12th, 5-8pm, at Curnow Funeral Home, 1410 Main Street, Sumner. Mrs. Fenton will be buried in Leavenworth, next to her beloved Larry. The family suggests memorials to Providence Hospice or the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research.
