Obituary of Leo Edward Svoboda

Leo Edward Svoboda, born to parents John and Josephine Svoboda December 2, 1919 in Puyallup, passed away at home in Puyallup on March 4, 2008. Leo graduated from Puyallup High School in 1938. He joined the Army National Guard and was later transferred into the regular Army during W.W. II. On October 27, 1945 Leo married Marcelle DuSell in Puyallup at All Saints Catholic Church. Farming was his passion and for many years he raised iris flowers and bulbs. His bulbs shipped mostly to the east coast for resale. He also owned and operated the Viking Diner. He is preceded in death by his wife Marcelle in 2006. He is survived by his two sons, Gerald and Michael. Leo was one of a kind and he will be greatly missed. A Rosary will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday March 14 followed by a Funeral Mass at Noon, both at All Saints Catholic Church, 204 6th Ave. SW, Puyallup. Interment will follow at the Sumner Cemetery.
