Obituary of John Perrin Hickel

John "Jack" Perrin Hickel, Sr. Age 86, of Lilliwaup, WA, passed away on February 13, 2008, at his home. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years Betty, his daughter Ferol Latham, (Chet) daughter-in-law DeAnn Hickel, his sisters, Shirley Brick, Patty Holt, Rosemary Akre, and his brother Dick, 5 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 8 great grandchildren. Jack is joining his son John Hickel, Jr. who passed away on June 13th of 2007. John was born on September 19, 1921, and was raised in Turner, MT. He moved to Seattle in 1940. He worked for the Boeing Company for over 30 years and enjoyed commercial fishing in the Summer as a hobby. In 1984 Jack and Betty retired and moved to Hood Canal, where they enjoyed crabbing, shrimping and picking oysters. He served as Wagon Master for the Good Sam Club of Hood Canal for 2 years, and they enjoyed traveling with the club for over 12 years. His family is grateful for the many wonderful years he shared with them and asks you to join them in celebrating his life at a Memorial service on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Sumner United Methodist Church, 901 Wood Ave,, Sumner, at 1:00pm.
