Obituary of David Edwin Sanford

David E. Sanford Born March 3, 1934 in Puyallup; passed away at home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer on December 16th. Dave was raised in Sumner and graduated from Sumner High School in 1952, where he met Mary Sutter. They were married in 1954. Worked as an auto mechanic all his life, starting at Sunset Chevrolet which his grandfather founded. He was a Coast Guard veteran and served during the Korean War. They enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. Also loved to travel in their motor home to Arizona and Mexico. They especially enjoyed Hawaii and Alaska. He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 59 years, daughters Deborah (Larry) Grace, Tamara Gribble (Joe), and Sandra (Ken) Charboneau, grandchildren Melissa, Josh (Kami), Jenny, Jeremy, Markus (Megan) and Kaycie, 2 great-grandchildren, Degan and Amilya, and siblings Barbara (Roy) Keehnel, Judy (Mike) Gibbons, and Roger Sanford (Peggy). At Dave's request there will be no service. An open house will be held at a later date.
