Obituary of Gordon E. Andersen

Gordon (Gordy) Eli Andersen, Beloved Father, Husband, and Friend, Gordy was born October 3, 1947, to Knud Eli Andersen, and Sedis Hilma Andersen in Tacoma, Washington, and passed away on September 14, 2012 in Renton, WA after a long battle with cancer. Gordy spent his childhood in Tacoma and after graduating from Franklin Pierce High School in 1966, attended Tacoma Community College, then joined the Navy where he served for 2 years. He joined United Parcel Service (UPS) in 1975 and retired in 2006 to Sumner, WA where he was always ready to lend a helping hand to the community. Gordy was most known for his love of life and people and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. Gordy is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Brooke Knight (Andy), Brother Dennis Andersen (Julie), and sister Shirley Andersen. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, at 1:00 pm at Faith Covenant Church (formerly Sumner Presbyterian Church), 1915 Washington Street, Sumner, WA 98390, phone (253) 863-5101.
