Obituary of Tony Grab

Tony (Anton) Grab Of Milton, Washington, 89, passed away at home on September 5, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1923 in Rottenthurem, Switzerland, Tony was one of 8 children of Anna and Meinrad Grab. Following military service in the Swiss Army at the end of WWII, Tony came to America on New Year's Eve, 1947. He used his general contracting and carpentry skills to build many houses and farm buildings in the greater Tacoma area until his retirement in 1984. Tony is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise, sons Randy (Mary) and Arnie (Sue), and daughter Antonette (Jim) Bjorkman. Tony was also a loving grandfather to 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Tony was a lifetime member of the Tacoma Swiss Society, Tacoma Swiss Sportsman's Club, and the Buckley Eagles. He was also a devout Catholic and member of St. Martin of Tours Parish in Fife. The numerous good friendships he made throughout his life were a testament to how honest and honorable a man he was. Funeral mass for Tony Grab will be at St. Martin of Tours on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances can be made to the Swiss Society Scholarship Fund, 9205 198th Avenue E, Bonney Lake, WA 98391.
