Obituary of Lynn Robert Baker

Lynn R. Baker passed away in his Daughter's home in Kent, under the loving care of his wife, surrounded by 4 of his children, brother & sister-in-law, on Tuesday July 3, 2012 at 5:20 AM, after a long battle with cancer. Lynn was born in Wenatchee, WA on July 31, 1943 and preceded in death by his parents Lowell Donald and Winifred Pearl Baker, and brother Lowell Dean Baker. Lynn is survived by his wife of almost 24 years, Lila Lea Baker, 3 children Christine Baker, Kathrine Schrift and Norman Baker, 3 step-children Shawn Stockwell, Troy Stockwell and Tamina Gann, along with 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his brother James (Jim) Marshall Baker. While living in Wenatchee in his younger years, he was an avid snow skier, and also joined the Wenatchee Youth Circus while in high-school, first playing his Trumpet in the Circus Band and then later performing on the trampoline and flying trapeze. Lynn moved to the Renton area in 1964 and started working for The Boeing Company and retired after 35 years in December 1999. While working at Boeing early on, he joined the Climbing Club and attempted to climb Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier, although was not successful of reaching the tops due to inclement weather. Lynn had a gentle spirit, he was a patient, kind man with a positive attitude and quiet courage/determination, everyone loved him dearly. Lynn loved boating (sail & power), sports of all kinds (playing, coaching & watching), and traveling (especially to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where he owned a time share at Playa Grande). He was fortunate to go on 3 cruises, one at the beginning of his relationship with Lila to the Caribbean, one in the middle of their marriage to Alaska with Lila's Aunts & Uncle's and last but not least, last year to the Panama Canal with Lila & Friends. Lynn was absolutely "In Love" with his wife, Lila, and had an unwavering devotion to her, she was his perfect partner and determined to read cancer health books and add nutritional food supplements to try and improve Lynn's chances of survival and extend his quality and quantity of life as long as possible. Lynn was loved unconditionally by his loving wife, family and friends and we will all remember the twinkle in his eye, the mischievous smile on his face and always the perpetual dreamer.
