Obituary of Gordon John Anderson

Gordon John Anderson was born August 20, 1931 in Trimont, Minnesota to John and Anna Anderson where they farmed. After his father’s death in 1943 and his own graduation from high school in 1950, he and his mother moved out to Washington. In 1951, he joined the Air Force and spent his active duty in Texas. Later, he met LaVern Allen, and they were happily married on January 11, 1952. Together, they raised five children: Curt Anderson, Mike Anderson, Ken Anderson (Lora), Mark Anderson (Teresa), and Linda (Rick Ball). Gordy also leaves two brothers, Victor and Orval, and a sister Eleanor. Together, he and LaVern have ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. His life was always busy. He worked for West Coast Airlines for nine years and later worked for NC machinery where he retired in 1994. Along the way, he built two houses and remodeled one. It was in his beloved shop he sent most of his time. When he wasn’t traveling or in his yard, which he made into a park, he built a beautiful waterfall and pond for LaVern. He and LaVern traveled coast to coast for many years, visiting 49 states. Many, many miles were spent in his ’41 Chevy convertible, his ’55 Ford Panel and their Lincoln Town Car. Gordy belonged to the NSRA and for many years was a safety inspector on the team. Gordy was a wonderful Christian man and enjoyed chatting with everyone and always had time for everyone. We are concentrating on how the life he lived continues to impact those he knew. Gordy, the husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend, will always be with us. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bible Missionary Church, 1726 Valley Avenue, Sumner, WA.
