Obituary of Dorothy Marie Watson

On May 23, 2012, Dorothy Marie Watson, surrounded by family and loved ones, returned to the place prepared by Our Heavenly Father. Dorothy was born in Wallace, Idaho, on Aug. 4, 1927, to Harry and Margaret Clay. Later she met the love of her life, John Alvin (JA) Watson, and they married on Feb. 1, 1948. Together they raised seven children while JA served his country in the United States Air Force. Although the family was large, Dorothy’s arms were even bigger, reaching out to include grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and those who would become her “grandchildren.” Dorothy never met a stranger who did not become a friend, or someone who did not willingly respond to “where’s my hug?” Dorothy was a proud and devoted Air Force wife, she loved traveling and participating in the NCO Wives Club, church choir and the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Later , Dorothy fulfilled a lifelong dream and graduated from St. Martin’s College in 1992 with a degree in psychology. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Watson; sons Jeff (Suzie), Patrick and John; daughters Michelle KinCaid, Margo (“Van”) VanMeter, Dannette (Jim) Allen and Colleen (Dave) Miller; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and best friend Corinne Dooling. A Rosary Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 at All Saints Catholic Church, 509 Third Street SW, Puyallup.
