Obituary of Thomas E Ashworth

Thomas E. Ashworth was born September 3, 1931, in Beeridge, Florida and passed away in Lakewood, Washington, December 3, 2011. After a complicated but short illness, Tom passed away peacefully, at home. He was a gifted organist who looked forward to and enjoyed the Organ at Noon recitals in Tacoma. He was employed by Prosser Music, and later worked for Western and Delta airlines. From this employment he enjoyed traveling with his parents, especially to Hawaii. He was a true animal lover, but even more than that he was a real people person. No one loved hugging people, more than Tom. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Legion of Mary and enjoyed taking communion to home bound parishioners. Since his passing his sister, Susie Rothage, also passed. They are both survived by their brother, Robert Ashworth along with numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves his long time friend and companion Pat Rogers. Many thanks go to the doctors and nurses at both St. Clare and St. Joseph hospitals as well as the staff of Franciscan hospice. We are also thankful for the love and support of dear family members and friends. A funeral mass will be held at St. John Bosco church on Saturday December 17th at 11:00am which follows a rosary at 10:00am. Any donations may be made to one of Pat and Tom’s favorite charities, Caring For Kids, 977 Eldorado Ave. Fircrest, WA 98466.
