Obituary of Sheila E. Dunn

Sheila E. Dunn born June 12, 1951 in Lowell MA passed away peacefully on November 6 after a 3 year battle with ALS. Sheila was predeceased by her parents Delores Gibbons & Joseph Welton, her Grandmother Delora Gibbons, and her sister Kathleen Cook. She is survived by her loving husband Michael of 30 years, daughter Shannon and granddaughter Megan Dunn. Sheila also leaves her sister Cindy Rimestead, (Ron), her brother in law George Cook, sister in law Linda Depanian (Mike) many beloved cousins, nieces & nephews across the country and devoted friend Trudy. Sheila was an incredibly kind and gentle woman with a wonderful sense of humor and wisdom. She will forever be missed by all who knew her. She achieved numerous awards and recognition during her career and retired after 35 years of Civil Service at Madigan Army Hospital where she attained the position of Chief of Systems Administration. An accomplished Genealogist, Sheila was a Daughter of the American Revolution and was at one time the Registrar for the Tacoma Chapter. She was also a talented and gifted tailor and seamstress. Her family wishes to thank MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospice for their kind and caring support. A graveside service for Sheila will be held on Saturday, November 12 at Calvary Cemetery at 5212 70th Street in Tacoma at 1 o’clock with a Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends immediately following at The Eagles, 4810 South Tacoma Way in Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the ALS Society.
