Obituary of Jerrold Henry Giste

Jerrold Henry Giste Age 72, was born on March 19, 1939 in Valley City, North Dakota. His earthly body left us on May 17, 2011. Jerry went though a long, difficult struggle due to the advanced symptoms of Lewy body dementia. He was one of 12 children, a large Norwegian family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra (Adler), and daughters Kristi and Erika. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Alice Giste, as well as his siblings Phyllis, Edith, Jane, Joe, Les and Doug. He is survived by MaryLou, Jimmy, Mike, Gary and Tom. He taught for 29 years, touching the lives of so many junior high students in Federal Way who had Mr. Giste as their teacher. He found great happiness in music, books, gardening, movies, and his family. His smile lit up his face and his laughter was contagious. Graveside burial will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, May 26th, 2011 at the Sumner City Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 on the same day at Sumner United Methodist Church, reception following in Fellowship Hall. Funeral arrangements by Curnow Funeral Home in Sumner (253.863.2800).
