Obituary of Willima Turver

Turver was born on June 19, 1921, grew up on Fox Island, he was a life long hunter, fisherman, athlete and family man who peacefully passed on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Bill was a veteran of WWII and served in the 15th infantry, 3rd division. He was an auto mechanic/inspector civil service at Fort Lewis for 28 years. His love of the outdoors was enjoyed through skiing, baseball, golf, hunting, fishing and camping. He was a dedicated member of the Tacoma Pigeon Club and the sport of homing pigeon racing. He is survived by his wife of 63 years of marriage, Roberta (Spencer) Turver, son Kim (Cindy), daughter Debra, grandchildren Kyle, (Jessica), Abby, Julia, (Orrin), Ryan, and Jenny, along with many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two sisters Dorothy Nelson and Frances Brooks. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Woodbine Cemetery, Puyallup, with a memorial service following at 2:00pm at Tacoma Christian Reformed Community Church, 2419 East 72nd St., 98404. Forever in our memories, we will miss the nick name “Shorty”, his corny sense of humor, and the many stories. Arrangements by Curnow Funeral Home & Cremation Service. 863-2800.
