Obituary of Richard R. Medeiros

Richard R. "Dick" Medeiros Dick passed away peacefully on March 17, 2011, in University Place, WA. He was born April 19, 1938 in Central Falls, RI to Theresa and Julio Madeiras. He started working at the age of 9 at his father's gas station and it was then that a hard working man was born. He then joined the Air Force in 1959 and served 4 years during the Vietnam war as a radio operator. He was stationed at Anchored FEB. and spent his remaining years in Tacoma. His passions in life were his family, the YMCA, basketball and being an automobile mechanic. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Donna, daughters, Deidra and Dana, sons-in-law, Trevor, Willie and granddaughters, Camryn and Maizy. He leaves behind brothers, Bob, David, Julio Jr. and sisters, Delores and Carolyn, and numerous relatives in Rhode Island and Illinois. We wish to thank the staff of Auburn Hospital's memory wellness unit and the UP Care Center for their compassionate and loving care of Dick in his final days. A memorial service will be held in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday, March 26th at 1:00 PM. Please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association .
