Obituary of Robert Vern McConaughy

Born June 22nd, 1919; passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, January 18th, 2011. Bob has been reunited with his loving wife Helen of 67 years. He will be missed dearly by his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family and friends. Bob served in the United States Navy during World War II. He enjoyed working in his garden and sharing his prized tomatoes with everyone. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing golf and will continue to root for the Cubs from heaven above. Bob was a member of the Elks club where he enjoyed playing cribbage and cards. He was adored by all his family and friends. Memories last forever and so will our love for you. We love you Papa with all our hearts! Sponaboum! A viewing will be held Sunday, January 23rd from 2:00 to 5:00 at Curnow Funeral Home, 1410 Main St. Sumner. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Monday, January 24th, at Sumner Methodist Church, 901 Wood Ave. at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sumner Cemetery.
