Obituary of Calvin Eugene Pate

Cal Eugene Pate was born February 16, 1936, in Mountain View. Oklahoma. He was born at home and was the baby of his family. He had two sisters- Cathern and LaVerne, and two brothers- Louis and William. His father was Henry Pleas Pate, and his mother was Mattie Reid Pate. Cal was predeceased in death by sister, LaVerne, Father Pleas, Sister Cathern, and mother Mattie. He is survived by his wife Margie, daughter Donna, son-in-law Mark, nieces and nephews and two brothers, Louis and Bill.

The Pate family lived on a farm in Cal’s early years. His father worked on the railroad. He went to grade school and graduated from Cordell High School in Cordell, Oklahoma.

Cal sang in a gospel quartet and later went to Southwestern Bible College in Oklahoma City where he met the love of his life, Margie. They were married on August 10, 1957, and were married for 65 wonderful years. They had 1 daughter, Donna Pate Dahl. He proudly walked her down the aisle to marry Mark Dahl.

Cal had at one time, a Missions License with the Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a Preacher. He later worked in Carpentry, then for Spivey’s Restaurant Commissary, and finally for a wholesale meat company from which he retired in 1998. He was a hard worker, and at one time he worked two jobs so that Donna could attend Valley Christian Jr. High and High School in San Jose, California.

Cal passed away after a short illness on February 2, 2023. He was two weeks away from being 87 years old.

 

He is now rejoicing in Heaven in the presence of the Lord.
