Obituary of Dorothy Catherine Joensuu

Dorothy Catherine Joensuu (Johnson) completed her life’s journey and returned to her Father in Heaven on May 23, 2023. She was born September 11, 1934, to Fredrick and Minnie Johnson in Seattle, WA. She lived a great many years in a home she had built for her and her six children. Dorothy, affectionately known as Dottie or Tootsie, was an avid gardener, captain of her pool league, and loved dancing. She loved her family and will be missed for her stories, laughter, and her gift of gab. She had great faith in her Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ and is finally at rest in Heaven.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Minnie Johnson and brothers Robert and Arthur Johnson. She is survived by her six children: Charles Pierce (Bea), Linda Menster (Tim), Dawn Perkins (Garry), Karen Bowers (Jerry), Sandra Miracle (Mark), and Pamela Brunson. She is also survived by Eighteen Grandchildren, Forty-One Great Grandchildren, and Three Great-Great Grandchildren.

There will be a viewing at 1:00pm followed by a funeral service at 1:30pm on Saturday June 3, 2023. The funeral will be held in Sumner, WA at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (512 Valley Ave East Sumner, WA 98390). Graveside service will be held Monday June 5, 2023 at 11:00am at the Hobart Cemetery (25115 SE 208th St. Maple Valley, WA 98038). All are welcome.
