Obituary of Nancy Cilea Tyson

Nancy Cilea Tyson, 87, Puyallup, Washington, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023, surrounded by loved ones after she was unable to overcome complications due to Covid and pneumonia.

Nancy, also known as Annunziata or Nonna, was born on June 11, 1935, to Paolo and Amalia Cilea in Tripoli, Libya. She graduated high school after World War ll and came to the US in the fall of 1954. Nancy had two children, Geno and Tina, with her first husband and was a devoted mother. Nancy worked hard to support her kids with the help of her many friends along the way.

Nancy met her current husband, Brian Tyson, in Anchorage, Alaska in 1987 and moved to Washington State where they were married in May 1988. Nancy worked in banking until she retired and went back to school to further her passion in floral arranging. Nancy later became an apprentice electrician working full time alongside her husband until her passing. Outside of family, Nancys’ passions were all things flowers, playing the piano, and spending time working on Word Search Puzzles.

Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers, Vincent and Mimmo. Nancy is survived by her brother, Antonio and sister, Giovanna and their families, as well as the many family members of Vincent and Mimmo. Nancy also leaves behind her two children, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Services will be held at the Sumner Cemetery on Tuesday February 28, 2023 at 2pm.
