Obituary of Elizabeth Guzman

Liz passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at her home in Orting, Washington. With her loving wife by her side.

Liz was born on May 12, 1958, at Madigan Army Hospital and resided in Pierce County her whole life. She graduated from Foss High School in 1976. She worked hard all her life and lived life full. After graduation, Liz went on to find her passion for the culinary arts before her medical retirement in 2010. Liz had spent the last 10 years of her career at St. Josephs’ Hospital. There she worked hard in many culinary aspects of the hospital; of that she was most proud of her culinary skills not just with taste but with her plating and presentations.

For over 25 years, Liz and Debra created a beautiful life and family. She loved being a mother, Grandmother and Aunt.

Liz had the unique ability to bridge all her passions in life-- Family-Friends-Food. She used her talents generously and graciously. She would always remember everyone’s favorite food, be it Lumpia, or rice, or a jam or jelly. She was enthusiastic about gardening, often giving tips, or sharing a recipe. Cooking was simply Liz’s way of showing love to all.

Liz is preceded in death by her parents Ramon and Maria Guzman. Her brother Alex Guzman, and her son Chad Hess. Her precious pups Little-bit, Shady May, Splenda and Sheba.

Liz is survived by her wife Debra Brown, her children Vernon Hess and Siriah Guzman-Brown. Her sister Rosalinda Servito, nieces Lisa Bouchard and Estrella Caddington, nephew Fred Servito.

Liz was well loved and will be deeply missed.
