Some of my most cherished childhood memories are summers at Grandma's in Pacific Beach. I take my family there almost yearly now, we always walk by the house, I share stories of things we'd do or how it used to look.
I remember being so fascinated by all the different material she had for quilting. I loved watching her, sitting on the bench next to her in front of the quilting table, being amazed at all the careful work and details. It was always so special to see her finished quilts, treasures.
One year my favorite stuffed animal, Elle the elephant, blew out of the window on the drive over. Grandma gave her some new stuffing, sewed her back together and sewed her a little quilt. I still have them both!
In more recent years I've enjoyed watching my son get to to know her while playing skip-bo, feeding chickens and collecting eggs.
Forever in our hearts, Love you Grandma.
