Deborah Townsend

Obituary of Deborah Townsend

Age 70, received her angel wings and peacefully entered her eternal home of love and light the morning of Sunday September 26.

Debbie was born in Puyallup, Washington on August 19, 1951 to father Thomas Townsend and mother Donna Mae Townsend (Fox), who predeceased her. She is survived by her children, Robert McGinnis (Peter), Eric McGinnis and Chris McGinnis.  Her greatest joy came from being a dedicated grandma to her 7 grandchildren Stephanie, Tyler, Madison, Conner, Alyssa, Frederick and Jameson, and her 2 great grandchildren Iris and Holden.  She is also survived by her siblings Elizabeth Stahlschmidt, Tom Townsend (Gina), Terri Townsend, her sister-cousin Sheree Rutland, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Debbie surrendered peacefully after powerfully living with cancer for several years.  It was through her courage, positivity, faith, hope and grit that she was able to give her family the gift of several years with her after her diagnosis.  We are grateful for every minute and every memory created, as we are for the values of honesty, fairness, love for family and strong work ethic that she instilled in all of us.  May these be her legacy.

The family would  like to thank Terri Townsend, Debbie's sister, friend and caretaker, for tirelessly and lovingly supporting and caring for our mom; and Dr. Sasha Joseph and his staff at the MultiCare Regional Cancer Center in Auburn for their constant, attentive treatment.

Debbie never liked being the center of attention, and per her wishes she will be cremated and the family will hold a small celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Orting Senior Center.
