Obituary of Marinette Joan Jacobson

Marinette Joan Jacobson, age 78, returned to her heavenly home on July, 7, 2021 after a battle with interstitial lung disease. She passed away at St. Clare’s hospital in Lakewood, WA. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother (Nana). She was a bright light in this world, so kind and generous to others. Marinette will be deeply missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact she is at peace with our Lord and Savior.

Marinette is survived by her husband of 57 years, Morgan; son, Mark, daughter-in- law, Jennifer, grandson, Erik and granddaughter, Brittany. Her brother, Noel Johnson. Her nephews, Dale Johnson and Jeffrey Webb. Her nieces, Darla Martin, Kimberlee Buff, Stephanee Samuel. Her lifelong friend, Sharon Clevenger.

Marinette was born in Yakima, WA on September 22, 1942, to her parents, Leon and Fyrnne Johnson. She graduated from Anacortes High School in 1961. She attended nursing school through Bates Technical College where she trained with the Nuns at St. Joseph Hospital. Marinette became a Nurse in 1972. She worked at various nursing facilities throughout the Tacoma area and retired from Tacoma Lutheran Home. She enjoyed reading, sewing & crafts, traveling in the motorhome and family vacations. She loved attending her Bible study group and Nurse’s Dinners with good friends.

In addition, she enjoyed prayers, songs, worship and fellowship while attending Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran church in Orting, WA.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date at the family home in Lakewood, WA.
