I can look all of the way back to 1968 when my family purchased the property next to Virgle (Mac) and Alice on Lake Tapps. At that time the lake front was lined with trees, floating logs and debris. One of my earliest memories was meeting both Mac and Alice when they walked over to introduce themselves to my family. It was the start of our relationship which has lasted 50+ years. Mac was always the kind of person who was willing to lend a hand and always had the big machinery to get the job done. (I'm guessing that is why Kirk is the same way. Mac and Alice always welcomed everyone with a smile and their causual demeanor, making others feel welcome. Aside from Mac's willingness to help, he was also willing to challenge anyone in a game of horseshoes. My Dad and Mac (and Dale Garrison) would spend hours playing, laughing and sharing a "toddy" on those warm summer days. Over the years our lives have ebbed and flowed but we have always had that connection at the lake. Mac is a man who showed his love and a geniune care for family and friends in his own quiet way. One always knew he had an ear to listen, a story to tell, and a welcoming smile waiting for anyone who happened along. I will hold those memories of him sitting on the lake front in his golf cart, an afternoon toddy in his hand, and sense of a life well lived as a reminder of what truly is important in this world. Say hello to all of those you will see again now that you have moved on. Rob and Linda Wagner.
